Firefox 3.5 erschienen
Es ist soweit die neue Firefoxversion ist draußen und ab sofort unter http://de.www.mozilla.com/de/ downloadbar. Wer wie ich auf Statistiken steht kann die aktuelle "Downloadentwicklung" unter http://downloadstats.mozilla.com/ verfolgen:
Für alle Jauntyuser:
Achtung!!! Das folgende Howto bindet das Mozilla Repo ein. Wo sich immer die akuellsten noch wenig getestenen nightly builds befinden und ist daher nur für Abenteuerlustige und Leute die wissen was sie da tun geeignet. Wer den aktuellen Firefox unter Jaunty benutzen will soll sich einfach noch ein bißchen gedulden, da es allem Anschein nach ein 3.5er Final bald in die offiziellen Repositories schafft
Wer unter Jaunty immer den aktuellen Firefox bei der Hand haben will der fügt am Besten das Mozilla-Daily PPA Repository zu seinen Paketquellen hinzu. Hier ein kleines Howto:
1. GPG-Key importieren:
sudo apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com EF4186FE247510BE
2. Das Mozilla Repository zu seinen Quellen hinzufügen:
echo "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mozilla-daily/ppa/ubuntu `lsb_release -cs` main" > /tmp/mozilla-daily.list
Das ist alles der Firefox 3.5 kann nun wie gewohnt und bervozugt zB. mit sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install firefox-3.5.
Für ganz Komfortable hier das Ganze in einer Copypastewurscht:
sudo apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com EF4186FE247510BE && echo "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mozilla-daily/ppa/ubuntu `lsb_release -cs` main" > /tmp/mozilla-daily.list && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install firefox-3.5

Was ich der Anleitung für Jauntyuser noch anfügen möchte:
Standardmäßig ist
/usr/bin/firefoxnoch ein symbolischer link auf/usr/bin/firefox-3.0. Wer wie ich standardmäßig aber den "3.5er" starten möchte der muss diesen Link wie folgt löschen und neuanlegen:sudo rm /usr/bin/firefox && sudo ln -s /usr/bin/firefox-3.5 /usr/bin/firefoxet voila!
Dies lässt sich natürlich jederzeit wieder mir
sudo rm /usr/bin/firefox && sudo ln -s /usr/bin/firefox-3.0 /usr/bin/firefoxrückgängig machen.
Btw auf https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/browse/type:3 habe ich bislang noch kein deutsches Sprachpaket gefunden, so bleibt mein Feuerfuchs englisch. Auf alle Fälle kann man aber eines oder mehrere deutsche Wörterbücher für die Rechtschreibkontrolle installieren.
p.s Wer seinen Firefox unbedingt auf Deutsch braucht wird hier fündig: http://home.arcor.de/dac324/firefox/germanlocale/3.5.x/, ist aber von mir noch nicht getestet.
